AND
Sample Disks = £36, and so on.)
Send your order to: AM/FM
Schleppegrellsgt. 10
0556 OSLO 5
NORWAY
And make payment to Norwegian Post Giro account no: 0824 0681472.
If transferring the money to our Post Giro account is difficult, expensive or
impossible from your country, you CAN send the money in cash to the address
above. (No coins please).
Note:
AM/FM does not follow specific release dates. We find the release-date
concept rather silly, because all magazines with specified dates are always
delayed anyway, as we're sure AM/FM would also be. We will release a new
issue whenever it's finished. However, one issue approximately every second
month shouldn't be too far from the truth. If you should ever receive a
faulty copy of the disk, we will of course replace it free of charge.
INFO TO PD DISTRIBUTORS
Your PD company is welcome to distribute AM/FM and AM/FM Sample Disks, but
disks can only be sold with
original
AM/FM disk labels, which are available
from AM/FM and cost £1 each. To obtain original AM/FM disk labels, send your
order to the AM/FM address given above, and at the same time, transfer the
appropriate amount to the Norwegian Post Giro account no.: 0824 0681472. The
labels will be shipped as soon as we have received the order and a
notification that the money has been transferred. At the same time, all
previously released AM/FM disks will be sent to you. You will also be put on
our mailing list and will automatically receive all future AM/FM releases as
soon as they are ready for distribution.
If you notice a PD company selling AM/FM without original AM/FM disk
labels, please notify us immediately.
WANT TO BE AN AM/FM CONTRIBUTOR?
To be able to make the best out of this magazine, we need help, feedback and
contributions from our readers - in other words - YOU. We will be delighted
for any material, articles, reviews, tips, gossip, music, utilities etc. being
sent to us. If we find your material suitable, it will be used for a future
issue of AM/FM. Especially musicians are wanted, of course, if you are an
Amiga composer, PLEASE send us some of your music, as we would LOVE to hear it.
If you include a disk and a reply coupon (return postage) with your
text/music/whatever, we will send you the next issue of AM/FM, regardless of
whether your material is included in the magazine or not.
Don't think that "they get so much mail, they will never even open mine" (which
is the case with many magazines). We GUARANTEE that we will seriously review
ALL
material sent to us.
If you wish to submit material for possible use on AM/FM, use the same address
as stated above, under subscriptions.
HOW TO FIND YOUR WAY AROUND THIS MAGAZINE
The Sections
There are 3 different "sections" in this magazine. Besides the magazine
itself, there's the "Utilities section" and the "Music section". You can
enter either of these from the magazine's Main Menu.
From the Utilities section you will be able to run any of the programs
featured on this issue of AM/FM, or read their documentation. You can of
course also access the utilities from for example your workbench disk, by
booting the workbench disk, opening a CLI or a Shell, and look in the
"Utilities" directory of this disk.
In the Music section you can play any of the Amiga-only songs featured on this
issue of AM/FM, read a bit about the songs and the composers. You can also
read about the MIDI music files on the disk.
The Text Viewer
The text displayer used for AM/FM is MuchMore_pp v2.5 by Fridtjof Siebert.
There are many options, like print file, fast scrolling, searching for text
etc. To get an overview of these functions, simply press your HELP key now.
To Stop The Music
If you have more than 512 kb memory in your Amiga, you will be given some
background music while you read. (You're probably listening to it now). If
you want to stop the music, simply press both mouse buttons simultaneously.
To Change The Background Music
If you want to hear another song than the default background music while you
are reading, go to the Music section from the Main Menu, stop the song that's
already playing by pressing both mouse buttons simulaneously, then pick
another song from the music menu. Once it has loaded and decrunched, it will
start playing, and you can go back to the magazine or the Utilities.
Borrowing The Amiga-only Music
If you feel like borrowing some of the music on this disk and use it for
something else, the songs are all stored as mpowerpackedm (PowerPacker 3.0,
copyright UGA software) ProTracker modules in the "music" directory on the
disk. Most of the music will be in the form of ProTracker modules, but
sometimes they will be in MED-module format or some other strange format. In
case of difficulties, read the "About the music on this issue of
AM/FM
" text
in the music section and see what it says about that particular song. Maybe
it is created with a music editor you don't even have.
If you are planning to use some of the music found on AM/FM for your own
production, please remember to clearly include credits to the composer. None
of the music found on any issue of AM/FM can be used for commercial purposes
or in commercial programs or presentations without the composer being
contacted and allows this! If you want to reach one of our musicians, feel
free to contact him through AM/FM.
Borrowing The Utilities
If you want to copy some of the utilities to your own disk, they are all found
in the "utilities" directory on the disk. (Well actually they are there even
if you don't want to copy them, but never mind.) Feel free to put them where
ever you want to, but remember to read the documentation files properly,
because some of the programs require additional files found elsewhere on the
disk, for instance in the libs: or c: directories.
Borrowing The MIDI Music
The .MIDI files, KCS files and Music-X performance files are all stored in the
"midifiles" directory on this disk. Help yourself!
